A morning coffee, a day like no other

Paris is just waking up. At the end of August, the terrace is still deserted, and I would like to hold onto the sweetness of this morning for a moment. A coffee, a few minutes of quiet before a meeting that means so much to Paul and me: today, we are placing TEMYRIS in the display cases of the Ritz Paris Spa.

On the table, my Éclat de Malachite beauty minaudière is by my side. Its shades of green, its natural lines, its presence in the morning light… I look at it with a particular tenderness. I know everything it took for it to exist.

In a few moments, we will head to the Place Vendôme. But for now, I savor this suspended moment. Before the palace doors, before the display cases, there is this Parisian café and an emotion I haven't quite tamed yet.

Éclat de Malachite, beauty in a single gesture

I open my makeup minaudière. A mirror, a lipstick, a powder compact, a perfume atomizer: everything is there, gathered in this small 3-in-1 beauty kit that we designed to accompany women's lives.

I take the time for a touch-up. This gesture seems simple. Yet, it is the culmination of so much research: making every element accessible, finding the right proportions, considering the handling and the precision of the mechanisms.

Our refillable lipsticks contribute to this idea of beauty that lasts. You keep your beauty minaudière, you renew your cosmetics, you choose your color according to your mood. The precious accessory remains with us, while life changes around it.

The malachite also reminds me of our meetings with lapidaries. In their workshops, I learned to look at a stone differently: to understand its particularities, its fragilities, and the work required to reveal its beauty. Each natural design gives it a personality. You have to know how to listen to it.

It all started with Henry and Lucienne

Looking at my minaudière, I think of my grandfather Henry's. He had designed it for his wife, Lucienne, in the 1930s. It, too, combined a lipstick, a powder compact, and a perfume atomizer.

Its ingenuity still amazes me. The lipstick was housed in a rifle cartridge. The atomizer used the mechanism of a bicycle pump. The powder compact was fashioned from brass, and the whole ensemble was encased in a galalith body.

When I inherited it, I was too young to understand everything it contained. It stayed on my bedside table for a long time. Then, years later, as I was leaving at dawn to head to my agency in Paris, I began to see it differently.

This makeup minaudière could still meet the needs of a modern woman. His intuition remained true: to gather the essentials of beauty into a compact, refined, and useful accessory.

I wanted to extend this gesture of love. To give this heritage a new life, so that it could, one day, be passed on in its turn.

Six years to give birth to TEMYRIS

Paul and I come from a background in marketing and communication. We were used to designing campaigns. Creating a beauty minaudière destined to last opened up an entirely new world for us.

We had to learn about materials, mechanics, and manufacturing constraints. Meet tablet-makers, metal specialists, lapidaries, marquetry artists, and cosmetic laboratories. Understand their crafts and build alongside them.

I remember prototypes that seemed perfect on screen, then revealed a difficulty once they were in our hands. A few tenths of a millimeter could change everything. A closure, a hinge, an adjustment: sometimes we had to go back, wait, start over.

We recreated an agency to fund and support this ambition. For a long time, TEMYRIS grew discreetly, between our professional daily life and this passion that was always taking up more space.

Six years taught us patience and humility. They also gave birth to a conviction: our beauty kit had to be worthy of the women we intended it for. Free, active, elegant women, whom I like to call the Amazons of the 21st century.

Place Vendôme, my heart beating a little faster

It is time to leave. With my TEMYRIS bag in hand, I head to the Place Vendôme. As we move forward, the emotion rises a notch.

These facades, these names, this square… Everything evokes a Paris of creation, jewelry, and excellence. I know them, of course. But today, I look at them with different eyes. We are here to bring a part of our history.

I think of Henry, of Lucienne, of the artisans who accompany us, of our families. Of all those who believed in this adventure when our beauty minaudière was still just a project.

After TEMYRIS' arrival at the Crillon, crossing this new milestone at the Ritz Paris is something dizzying. Our young House continues its path in places whose names inspire dreams far beyond France.

In front of the Ritz Paris, a suspended moment

Here we are in front of the entrance. I look up at the name Ritz Paris. I pause.

I almost feel like I am entering the holy of holies. A place where luxury, glamour, and that art of hospitality which feeds the Parisian imagination meet.

This morning, I enter with our creations. One thought is enough to move me: the minaudière that once rested on my bedside table has led us here.

I also realize what this demands of us. In such a world, every detail counts: the feel of a material, the sound of a mechanism, the precision of a closure, the way an accessory reveals itself in one's hands. This level of demand has helped us grow. It will continue to guide us.
